I grew up in a musical family and learned my first song on the piano, “The Boogie Woogie”, from my Aunt and Grandmother when I was seven years old. The piano has been an important part of my life ever since, and I love the opportunity to help my students bring music into in their own lives.
I studied classical piano performance as an undergrad at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque. In 2001, I received my Masters Degree in music composition and world music from Wesleyan University. Immediately following graduation, I began teaching private piano lessons and have been working with musicians of all ages and abilities in Brooklyn since 2003.
My compositions have been featured in film scores and performed in music and dance festivals around the world, but my favorite performances are my students’ annual recitals.
